Dear Members of the St. Louis Community,

Saint Louis University, represented by Prof. Alex H. Rafi, Film & Media Studies Program Coordinator, and Amy Bautz from the Studio Art program, is delighted to extend a warm invitation to a special screening event in celebration of Arab American Heritage Month.

We are delighted to present a screening of Ahmed El Maanouni’s renowned documentary film, Trances (1981). This captivating film delves into the performances of Moroccan band Nass El Ghiwane during their tours in Tunisia, Morocco, and France in the late 1970s.

We cordially invite you to join us for this enriching cinematic experience, which is open to the public at no cost. Details for the screening are as follows:

أعزائي أعضاء مجتمع سانت لويس،

يسر جامعة سانت لويس، ممثلة بالبروفيسور أليكس رافي، منسق برنامج الدراسات السينمائية والإعلامية، وإيمي باوتس من برنامج Studio Art، أن تقدم دعوة حارة لحضور حفل عرض خاص احتفالاً بشهر التراث العربي الأمريكي.

يسعدنا أن نقدم لكم عرض الفيلم الوثائقي الشهير لأحمد المعوني “غيبوبة” (1981). يتطرق هذا الفيلم الآسر إلى عروض فرقة ناس الغيوان المغربية خلال جولاتها في تونس والمغرب وفرنسا في أواخر السبعينيات.
